So often founders will send pitch decks and demo videos my way with little context and ask for feedback on their idea.
Now, there’s a small chance I understand the problem you are solving, in which case I could provide some insight into the idea. Great.
But in most cases I can’t relate, and have no clue if it’s a good idea or not. For anyone who knows me, I love to help founders, and provide feedback, but the ‘idea’ is just one data point.
Here are some of the questions going through my head:
Cool, so why are you building this?
Who is your target audience? Age, location, gender, occupation, etc.
Have you spoken to some people in your target audience?
Do most of the people who are in your target audience say that need this?
How many people have already expressed interest in this?
How long until the product is ready?
What else is the app/site going to do?
What is your grand vision?
Who are your competitors?
Why are you better?
Who’s working on this with you?
What else have they built?
Again, why are YOU building THIS?
